Who we are
We started with our little piece of Africa in 2000 and initially it was just about having a gem we could call our own outside of the city.
The farm is the place that we love. Working with animals fills our souls. We are happy and excited to share our slice of heaven with you.
Our Animals
Buffalo
Our buffalo herd stems from Thaba Tholo stock, with our first group being purchased from them in 2008. Our herd numbers over 70 animals now.
Sable
The basis for our sable herd is also mainly Thaba Tholo. We have used a range of breeding bulls from different bloodlines, such as Rundu from the Crous Broers and Katima who is a son of the 48 1/2″ Dinaka from Thaba Tholo.
Spiral Horns
We have two kudu herds at Ubhejane Wildlife. We have Nyumbu Wildlife and Castle De Wildt genetics from Iron Man in our herds.
We also breed with nyala at Ubhejane.
Ankole
We have started breeding with the majestic and breathtaking Ankole cattle. Our herd has animals from both the original Ntaba Nyoni herd and also from Lumarie Game Farm.
Others
We love all things about the veld. The smell of summer rain, the little dung beetles that work so busily and the tall, elegant giraffe that wind their very long tongues around the tastiest leaves at the top of trees. We understand the need for diversity in the veld.
